Gov. Tom Wolf delivered his budget proposal for the 2017-18 fiscal year in Harrisburg Tuesday before a joint session of the Pennsylvania General Assembly. The governor’s proposed $32.34 billion spending plan includes a call for modest revenue increases, but also features a number of departmental consolidations and cost-saving measures. House Speaker Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) said lawmakers will be taking a close look at the details of the proposal, but are generally pleased with the governor’s plan that will reduce the growth of spending while supporting Republican efforts to restart state government.
