Lawmakers heard Gov. Tom Wolf deliver his budget address for the 2017-18 fiscal year today in Harrisburg before a joint session of the Pennsylvania General Assembly. The governor’s proposed $32.34 billion spending plan includes a call for a modest increase in revenue, but includes a number of departmental consolidations and cost-saving measures. House Majority Leader Dave Reed (R-Indiana County) said lawmakers have some concerns with the specifics of the proposal, but are generally encouraged by the governor’s willingness to participate in efforts to streamline, rebuild and restart state government.
