Supreme Court Should Follow the Law, Continue to Block RGGI, Cutler Says

HARRISBURG – With the Pennsylvania Supreme Court hearing oral arguments in a case that will partially determine the fate of Pennsylvania’s entry into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), a plan that will raise taxes on Pennsylvanians for turning their lights on and heating and cooling their homes, and devastate Pennsylvania’s growing energy economy, Pennsylvania House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) called on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to follow the law and continue the delay placed on Pennsylvania’s entry into RGGI by the Commonwealth Court while underlying legal merits are argued.

Wentling’s Bill to Repeal Frozen Dessert Law Passes House

Transportation Committee Advances Smith Legislation Allowing the Use of Safety Cables When Towing Vehicles

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Brian Smith (R-Jefferson/Indiana) today announced that the House Transportation Committee has approved his legislation to expand safety options for towing. House Bill 497 would allow the use of safety cables when towing vehicles. When two vehicles are connected by certain hitches or devices, current law requires safety chains to be equipped in order to prevent the tow bar from hitting the ground should the tow bar fail or become disconnected.
