Dunbar Reacts to Wolf’s Veto Sanctioning Double Taxation

Tom Wolf’s veto of House Bill 245 which would make several important clarifications to the Local Tax Enabling Act (Act 32 of 2008) to prohibit local school districts and municipalities from imposing double taxation:

Santora and Miccarelli Advocate for People with Disabilities in Uber Bill Amendments

HARRISBURG – Reps. James R. Santora (R-Delaware) and Nick Miccarelli (R-Delaware) this morning joined Gov. Tom Wolf at the bill signing for legislation that legalized Uber and Lyft services in Philadelphia and all of the Commonwealth. The two amended the bill’s language to include provisions for people with disabilities and shepherded the bill through the House.

Wolf Signs Unemployment Compensation Bill Championed by Gingrich

HARRISBURG – On Thursday, Gov. Tom Wolf signed legislation that was ushered through the House by Rep. Mauree Gingrich (R-Lebanon), chairman of the House Labor and Industry Committee, to further stabilize Pennsylvania’s Unemployment Compensation Fund and permit thousands of cyclical workers to regain eligibility for unemployment compensation (UC) benefits.

Benninghoff Bill to Combat Truancy and School Dropouts Becomes Law

HARRISBURG – Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) announced today that his bill to combat truancy and school dropouts has been signed into law by the governor. House Bill 1907, now Act 138, substantially amends the states truancy laws and policies, which had not been fundamentally changed since the early 1990s.

Wolf Signs Into Law Phillips-Hill Bill to Return Military Veterans, Spouses to the Classroom

HARRISBURG – House Bill 2078, legislation authored by state Rep. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York Township) that would accelerate the process veterans, military members and their spouses must follow when attempting to maintain state teaching certification due to frequent moves, has been signed into law. Gov. Tom Wolf’s signature today advanced the bill to become Act 143 of 2016.
