HARRISBURG – The House Local Government Committee, chaired by Rep. Kate Harper (R-Montgomery), today approved legislation aimed at protecting land preservation efforts in the Commonwealth.

HARRISBURG – The state House voted this week in favor of two bills which would reduce the size of the General Assembly, members of the York County Republican House Delegation today said. Reps. Seth Grove (R-Dover), Stan Saylor (R-Red Lion), Mike Regan (R-Dillsburg), Keith Gillespie (R-Hellam), Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) and Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York Township), all voted in favor of House Bills 153 and 384, which would ultimately reduce the membership of the state House from 203 to 151 and the Senate membership from 50 to 37, respectively.

HARRISBURG – Legislation contained in two bills to ultimately reduce the size of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 203 members to 151 and the Senate from 50 to 37 was approved by the House this week with affirmative votes from Rep. Garth Everett (R-Lycoming/Union) and Rep. Jeff C. Wheeland (R-Lycoming).

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Will Tallman (R-Adams/Cumberland) joined the majority of his colleagues Monday in moving to the state Senate bipartisan legislation that would more sufficiently fund Pennsylvania’s 911 emergency calling system and update the necessary technology to bring it into the 21st Century. House Bill 911 passed by a 134-59 margin.

HARRISBURG – The House Local Government Committee today unanimously passed legislation sponsored by Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks) that would exempt from the realty transfer tax grants of conservation easements to municipalities. The bill now goes to the full House for consideration.

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Tim Krieger (R-Delmont) announced today that he has been selected to chair the Subcommittee on Courts of the Judiciary Committee in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Krieger was appointed to replace former Rep. Glen Grell (R-Cumberland) who resigned from the House on April 30 to serve as the new executive director of the Public School Employees’ Retirement System.
