WHAT: The House Game and Fisheries Committee, chaired by state Rep. Keith Gillespie (R-York County), will host a public hearing on Sunday hunting, which is illegal in Pennsylvania. The Senate passed legislation in June that would allow three days of Sunday hunting each calendar year, including one during rifled deer season and one during statewide deer archery season.

House Liquor Control Committee Hosting Public Hearing on Hotel Liquor License Conversion

Jeff Pyle (R-Armstrong/Butler/Indiana), chairman of the House Liquor Control Committee, and other members of the committee will hold a public hearing on legislation to address liquor license availability. House Bill 1617 will enable holders of hotel licenses, issued prior to 1949, the opportunity to convert them to restaurant liquor licenses, which would enable them to be transferred to another location in the county.

House Liquor Control Committee Hearing to Explore Conversion of Old Hotel Licenses

WHAT: The House Liquor Control Committee will hold a public hearing in Philadelphia regarding legislation to permit owners of old hotel licenses to convert them to restaurant liquor licenses. House Bill 1617 would give owners of hotel licenses, issued prior to 1949, a window during which they could apply to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to convert them to restaurant licenses. The move would give the licensees greater flexibility in the transferability of the licenses.
