Grove, Delozier to Announce New State Law Allowing Local Pharmacies to Offer Flu Shots to Children
WHAT: Reps. Seth Grove (R-York) and Sheryl Delozier (R-Cumberland) will hold a press event at a local pharmacy to announce a new state law in effect, which allows pharmacists to offer flu vaccines to children ages 9 and older, with parental permission. Act 8 of 2015 also allows licensed pharmacy interns under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to administer the vaccine and ensures children of members of the armed services and veterans receive the flu vaccination free of charge.
WHO: Grove and Delozier will be joined by House Professional Licensure Committee Chairwoman Rep. Julie Harhart (R- Lehigh/Northampton), as well as Sen. Tom McGarrigle (R-Chester/Delaware) and representatives of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association and Pennsylvania Association of Chain Drug Stores. Other elected and appointed officials have been invited and may be in attendance.
