Benninghoff Congratulates PSU Students, Honors THON Leaders on House Floor
HARRISBURG – Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) today announced that the Pennsylvania House of Representatives unanimously passed House Resolution 119, congratulating Pennsylvania State University students for raising more than $13 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital to help fight pediatric cancer.
“THON is about providing hope, love and support for children and their families as they face the toughest battles of their lives,” Benninghoff said. “I continue to be amazed by the efforts of our young people, and could not be more proud.”
THON is the commonly referred to name for The Pennsylvania State University IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. The mission of THON is to conquer pediatric cancer by providing outstanding emotional and financial support to the children, families, researchers, and staff of the Four Diamonds Fund.
Since 1977, THON has raised more than $114 million.
