HARRISBURG – Speaker of the House Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) issued the following statement after the House advanced
House Bill 2146, which includes the updated map of Pennsylvania congressional districts:
“Today’s historic vote is the culmination of the most transparent and fair redistricting process in Pennsylvania’s history. This map was created after more than a dozen public hearings, collecting hundreds of public comments, and working from a map introduced by a member of the public, and not legislators.
“In the state that created modern American democracy, we can take great pride in once again going the extra mile to ensure our processes are open and the voices of the people are held above politics.
“Everyone has their own concepts of ‘fairness,’ which is clearly different depending on perspective and individual views. What is most important is that we follow the standards set forth in the Constitution, which this map does.
“I look forward to working with the Senate and Gov. Tom Wolf to advance this map which serves the best interest of fair representation for the people of our Commonwealth.”
The map is available for everyone to view at
