Grimm Krupa Appointed to Serve on Five House Committees

HARRISBURG – Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa (R-Fayette) has been appointed to serve on five House committees. She will serve on the House Appropriations, Government Oversight, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Health and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committees.

The House Appropriations Committee is the primary committee of the General Assembly tasked with overseeing state government spending, state fiscal policies and developing a state budget each fiscal year. 

The House Government Oversight Committee receives special assignments from the speaker of the House and the majority and minority leaders of the House of Representatives to investigate and make recommendations concerning the operations of state government.

The House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee deals with an array of legislation directly affecting the state’s farmers and farming operations. It also handles issues impacting the timber industry, horse and harness racing regulation, food safety and restaurant inspections, Dog Law enforcement and kennel licensure, the use of pesticides, and the administration of state-funded programs to promote agriculture in Pennsylvania.

The House Health Committee focuses on issues such as abortion, disease management, stem cell research, health savings accounts, hospital-acquired infections, Medical Assistance, patient safety, pharmaceutical issues, telemedicine and much more.

The House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee focuses on the needs of Pennsylvania’s first responders and veteran community, as well as works to keep all Commonwealth residents safe.

“These committees do incredibly important work,” Grimm Krupa said. “While I’m excited to resume my duties on the Agriculture and Veterans Affairs committees, I’m also looking forward to getting started on these three new committees. I’m especially honored to get the chance to play a bigger role in the formation of our state budget on the Appropriations Committee. I will work to end the string of deficit spending plaguing Pennsylvania.”
