WHAT: A roundtable discussion with parents of a successful, quality Pittsburgh charter school.

WHO: PA Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) and state Rep. Jake Wheatley (D-Allegheny) will join parents of charter school children.

WHY: Charter schools in Pittsburgh are offering students from low-income families a real chance at academic success and are on the frontlines of closing the achievement gap, but currently thousands of students and their parents sit on waiting lists. Parents and legislators will discuss meeting the demand for more high-quality options.
