Staats Highlights Fiscal Responsibility, Education and Infrastructure Investments
July 13, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks) issued the following statement after the House approved the 2026-27 Pennsylvania state budget:
“Last year, Republicans and Democrats came together to reach a responsible budget agreement. We built on that approach this year with a budget that protects taxpayers without raising broad-based taxes or using the Rainy Day Fund.
“The budget expands access to the GROW PA program, provides $10 million to reduce waitlists at career and technical education centers and preserves tax policies that encourage employers to invest and create jobs. Those are smart decisions that will help meet Pennsylvania's workforce needs for years to come.
“We continued funding for transportation improvements, school facilities and other infrastructure projects that communities depend on every day. Maintaining those investments strengthens our local communities and supports future economic growth.
“No budget is perfect, but this agreement keeps Pennsylvania on solid financial footing while making meaningful investments that benefit families, employers and communities across our Commonwealth.”
