Rigby Approves of Education Funding in State Budget
July 13, 2026
HARRISBURG – When it comes to support for Pennsylvania school students, state Rep. Jim Rigby (R-Cambria/Somerset) agrees with the 2026-27 state budget.
“The compromise that the House and Senate agreed to would adequately fund our public schools and keep intact both the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs, which support school choice,” said Rigby, a member of the House Appropriations Committee. “It’s a win for Pennsylvania students and their families and gives them the flexibility they deserve in choosing which course of learning is best for them.”
The school districts that Rigby represents would receive the following increases in combined Basic Education, Special Education and Ready to Learn Block Grant funding:
Cambria County:
• Cambria Heights - $276,849 (2.2%)
• Ferndale Area - $290,221 (3.4%)
• Forest Hills - $789,712 (4.7%)
• Greater Johnstown - $3,296,854 (8.2%)
• Penn Cambria - $712,011 (5.3%)
• Portage Area - $343,613 (3.8%
• Richland - $451,942 (7.7%)
Clearfield County:
• Glendale - $378,295 (4.5%)
Somerset County:
• Conemaugh Township Area - $310,841 (3.6%)
• Windber Area - $701,273 (5.4%)
