HARRISBURG – Rep. Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Franklin/Fulton) today announced that he has been named to four House committees, including Commerce, Health, Local Government, and Tourism and Recreational Development. In addition, he was named by House Majority Whip Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) as a deputy whip.

“These committee assignments capitalize on my experience and the wealth of resources found in Bedford, Franklin and Fulton counties,” Topper said. “I am also deeply honored to have the opportunity to serve as a deputy whip and help drive the discussion on the House floor.”

As a deputy whip, Topper will be called on to handle a variety of House floor responsibilities, including helping to monitor floor attendance, assisting in securing accurate vote counts and communicating caucus positions prior to House floor debates.

“In just one year since his election, Representative Topper has become an active voice in the House Republican Caucus,” Cutler said. “He has built great relationships with his colleagues, which I know will serve him well in this new position.”
