HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Health is no longer conducting weekly televised news conferences to update the spread of COVID-19. State Reps. Tommy Sankey (R-Hastings) and Jim Rigby (R-Johnstown) are now calling on the state’s Department of Labor and Industry to begin a similar practice by regularly addressing the Commonwealth’s economic “health” in a public forum.

YORK – A former feed mill in York County, once used as a prop for Gov. Tom Wolf’s severance tax tour, is being torn down despite the absence of a severance tax on Pennsylvania’s natural gas consumers. To date, York County has received nearly $3.5 million dollars, including more than $378,000 it received today, in impact fees from taxes on unconventional gas wells in Pennsylvania despite there not being a well in the county.

Keith Gillespie (R-Hellam) today announced that the governor has signed his bill, House Bill 1003, which strengthens the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s (PFBC) ability to enforce the marking of low head or run-of-the-river dams. The bill was signed into law as Act 39 of 2020.
